Holistic for Dogs!
I am holistic for dogs! I know that sentence did not make much grammatical sense—As pet owners, however, we can agree that there is little else in the world that brings as much joy and happiness as having a furry companion. Caring for an animal can be both fulfilling and sometimes stressful. But because of our love for our animals, we can all agree that we wish to give our “best friends” the healthiest, the longest, and the most fulfilling lives possible.

Pets are honest about their feelings and wants 100% of the time. They are 100% unconditional in their love and devotion to you! Pets enrich the lives of their owners and caretakers by giving their owners the joy and peace of mind that other people can’t always provide—and there is no substitute for that.
The term holistic care for dogs has greater meaning than “natural care for dogs”, or “natural dog remedies” although I am a strong advocate of using natural dog care products. Holistic means to look as something as whole rather than as individual parts. For example, I can look at my dog non-holistically in parts such as: my companion, a tail or a head perhaps, a poop maker, something I need to feed, or something I need to care for. As such, those parts are independent of each other. Or I could look at my animal holistically—as one animal relying on me to care for it.
Many pet owners do not realize that giving their dog the best care means seeing to all of their dogs needs as a whole. It does no good for your dog to look after some aspects of his/her health but not others. If I, for example, walk my dog every day, feed her dry Costco dog food (a food mainly composed of fillers and preservatives), and don’t bother brushing her teeth, I will be a better dog owner than some since I walk her every day; but I will not be holistically caring for her since I would be remiss in my duties to feed her healthy food, to brush her teeth, and to give her the proper amount of love and discipline.
Holistically caring for your dog seems paradoxical—I mean how can you care for separate aspects of your dog at the same time. However, as the months go by, and if you decide to follow HolisticForDogs.net, we will explore together the different aspects of holistic dog care and show you and your dog how live a fulfilling and, most importantly, joyful life together.
